friday night is a house eat good food outside.. so we got to this guyi xiang wei nong thingie.. a recommendation by howard (the bottom right corner bald guy). he's weiwei's colleague. he's a taiwanese brought up in US.. so a bit complicated. haha

and yes.. i think shanghai is module after singapore quite a bittt.. haha.. now they hav rules about .. not saying vulgar words. haha. like they will listen. haha

Dr Balakrishnan said Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew asked him two key questions after Singapore won the bid last week.

The first was where will the games be held because Singapore will not have a National Stadium by 2010.

So YOG events will be held in the heartland sports facilities.

And Dr Balakrishnan said these will be upgraded so Singaporeans will also benefit from the world-class facilities.

But he said Mr Lee's second point involves changing software, not hardware.

Dr Balakrishnan said: "The second question, or actually the challenge he threw, was that this is a great opportunity. Let's uplift our people, bring ourselves up and truly create a gracious society and let's use the games as an opportunity to test ourselves, to showcase ourselves and to benchmark ourselves."

He added that it is time for Singapore to develop a polite and considerate culture for the country's sake not just because of the YOG.

fireworks

fireworks in shanghai CNY!!! wow.. dun you feel like it's NDP!! it's really magnificient. and since they are not shot up that high like our NDP, you can literally feel that the fireworks is going to land on you!.. it's like disneyland. hahaha and best of all, it's all free. neighbours just lit them up along the streets. some even lit of small crackers outside their windows.

okay.. the nice fireworks are lit up by the rest of the pple.. we? we have this BIG sparklers burning on the ground. hahaha..

1. leaving singapore is much easier for the 2nd time	2. at at least it's more personal, taking my own time to enter and board
3. T3, a bigger brighter, spacious terminal. it's so big that for certain gates, they even suggest you to take a shuttle bus !!!	4. taking the plane by myself, is just like taking public bus by myself when i was in sec 1. full of excitment and illusion that i am a grown up. okay, i am a grown up now. i know. hahaha

1. arriving in singapore.. it's like taking bus home. a 4 hour bus ride	2. but i reallie never expect pple to fe there when i touch down. i mean.. wah.!!! nick, bohao, des, honghao.. you all ups la..

Chinese New Year in Shanghai

1. before shirleen and wei wei leave for harbin, we decide our 2404 reunion dinner.. so, as singaporeans.. haha.. of cos we will choose the easiest way out.. steamboat!!!	2. we got weiwei cooking the stock; shirleen cooking dumplings; ckm the mushroom and vegs guy; weihan the lay the table guy
3. and viola..!! spread is set. we have so much food that we can eat for another 3 days. hahah	4. cheers!!!!!

1. the real newyear's eve, we gathered at hansheng's house for steamboat again. this time with people from all 3 houses. it's a spread as well	2. the highlight of the day must be the firecrackers and fireworks
3. they "pia, pia, pia" (sound of firecrackers) all the way from 10pm until CNY Day 1 4/5am!!!	4.and me, attempting to light up as well. =)

1. the famous Pearl of the east building.. so of cos must take picture	2. and finally, my ixus 860 has it's pride. it can take the full view of the tower using it's 28mm wide angle lens while the rest of them cant!! yeah!!
3. there's weihan, elim, lijuan, yiyang and myself.

1. carl, my sales boss, brought yusheng back from singapore to lao with my IT boss cos he dint return this year.

2. it's a nice yusheng lao-ing experience. if there's anything this CNY makes me feel like a singaporean, it's this thing call lao yusheng.

she's damn pro.. smooth handling.. and it's realie quite healthy.. reallie.. haven been seeing healthy stuffs liao.. it's made of mixed cereal.. orkay, the sauce a bit salty but othe than that it's realli like flour and wheat and eggs. wah.. damn good and crispy. and further more.. it's like erm.. 2.5 rmb for one.
i reallie love to take time to eat breakfsat. it's cheap.. unlike lunch and all. esp when you meet pple for meals.. tend to overspend and burst the budget. =(

但…… 雾浓的上海，可以像是雾里看花，美。有人也会觉得天灰灰的，很哀伤，很凄凉。
冬天里总有这”卖火柴的小女孩“，在严冬求生……

当你穿着一层棉，一层羊毛背心，一层羽绒服走过，心里就会真心感谢上帝。

6: my favourite breakfast thus far, bought from stall in pic 9. it's only 4.1 rmb and he always charge me 4rmb. it's like less than a dollar sing for all this!!!

but things dun come so cheap most of the time.. average lunch is always above 10 or 20 cos i dun eat alone and hence the cost depends on the crowd. i realie think the living standards in shanghai is reallie so damn high. the amt of thing 1rmb can fetch is so much less than 1 sing dollar. at least we can settle a meal at below 4 sing if we want to. okie. actually in singapore also a bit hard le. but then, the common food stalls like hawker centres also cost bout 6 rmb for 1 lamian. it's freaking 6rmb. it's less than 2Sing i know but 6 rmb is a lot to the china pple here who also earns bout 2-3 k rmb.

i also start to realise the beggers along the street when i walked to mrt station are the same few. the reason i dint give is because i dun know if i should give. but many times, mins after passing by them, i realise the 1 or 2 rmb is only like less than a dollar to me. why cant i just give it to them? it pains when you see a lady with full of white hair kneeling in the snowing city begging for money.

anyway, it's also becos we were talking to baberozza.. we found this reallie beautify place with many trees as canopy and the floor is covered with soft white snow. it's enchanted against the foggy and pinkish shanghai sky. how romantic, if you hae ur gf with you.
